VigilArc Microtag - VigilArc USBL micro responder-beacon
Device specification

KEY FEATURES

DESCRIPTION

VigilArc Microtag - miniature version of the responder-beacon of the ultra-short baseline navigation system VigilArc USBL.

The device is designed to be placed on the smallest underwater objects in order to determine their location in real time using the direction-finding antenna VigilArc Array.

The device can be either standalone (with an additional battery pack) or interfaced with the carrier for power.

Extremely small size, ease of use and low power consumption make the direction-finding system VigilArc USBL an ideal solution for working with autonomous and remotely controlled vehicles, as well as for determining the relative position of divers.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In the standalone version, the device is equipped with a battery pack based on LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries, which provide more than a thousand charge-discharge cycles and operation at low ambient temperatures.

The responder-beacon is connected to the battery pack through a sealed connector, which additionally provides the function of automatically switching the device on when it is immersed in water.

The operating time of the responder-beacon on the battery pack depends on the intensity of the exchange with the direction-finding antenna, which in turn depends on the range, the number of responder-beacons polled by the direction-finding antenna and the hydrological conditions.
